Comparative overview of deltas

As an initial project of the Delta Alliance network a comparison of seven of the world’s deltas is being performed. This study compares physical, ecological and socio-economic impacts and adaptive response measures regarding the most affected sectors. The overview will provide the basis for the development of score cards to compare current and possible future state of deltas as they respond to changing conditions, taking into account the respective socio-economic and cultural differences. Lessons learned, research gaps and opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration between deltas will be identified. The final aim is to enhance resilience and sustainable development in deltas.

Goodbye Katherine!

From the very start of Delta Alliance, Katherine Trajan has been the driving force behind the establishment of the delta network. Thanks to her energy and enthusiasm the network has grown, Delta Alliance has succesfully been launched, and the first project under Delta Alliance has been initiated. Now, it is time for her to move on and leave the Delta Alliance secretariat. We hope and belief that she will remain an active member of Delta Alliance and that we will regularly meet her in one of the worlds' deltas or at least at LinkedIn. On behalf of the other secretariat members and all network members, we would like to thank Katherine for all her efforts and wish her all the best in her future career!
